A wedding is a ceremony wherein two people who really love each other unite, exchange their vows and promise each other a lifetime full of love, loyalty and happiness. Everything would've been perfect, if only I was the one whom her heart was beating for.

My future wife, Lee Sungmin, was my best friend and best man's, Lee Donghae, ex-girlfriend. I witnessed how their relationship blossomed and I saw how madly in love they were with each other. Everything was almost perfect and Donghae was ready to propose to her, if only Sungmin's and my family didn't get in the way.

At that time, SHINee Company, Sungmin's parents' company, went bankrupt and asked for help from YOUNGWOON Co., my parents' company. My parents agreed to help them, but on one condition: Sungmin had to marry me. I didn't oblige though, in fact, I was very happy with the news, because I was in love with her, even though she belonged to my best friend.

Their relationship of 3 years had to end because my parents and Sungmin's parents wanted us to be the one to end up with each other. Sungmin's parents loved Donghae, but they had to give him up for the sake of their company. Not only did their relationship end that day, but my friendship with Donghae too.

In the past 3 years, I acted like I was happy with their relationship, but the truth was, it hurt so much. I fell in love with Sungmin when we were in college, so I introduced her to Donghae, but because my best friend liked her too, I gave her to him, thinking that I'd find someone like her someday, but I was wrong. Now, it feels like what's always been mine is being returned to me.

Whenever I'd pick Sungmin up for the wedding rehearsals, I could always hear moans coming from her bedroom. As soon as I knock on the door, it would always stop and I could hear someone running inside. When she would open the door, her hair would always be messy and I could see marks on her body. I knew what happened, but I would just ignore it.

During the wedding rehearsals, Sungmin would always avoid me or wouldn't stand near me whenever we were at the altar. Even though my friendship with Donghae ended, my parents requested him to be my best man. Being the obedient guy that he was, he agreed. I didn't want him there, because he and Sungmin would always glance and smile at each other, but I had no choice.

On our wedding day, I could hear moans coming from inside her hotel room. I know I'm not supposed to see my bride-to-be yet, but I just wanted to check on her. I could only cry and listen to them. If only I made my move on Sungmin and didn't give her to Donghae, then maybe she'd be happy with me and none of this was happening.

As soon as the moans stopped, I could hear them giggling and talking. It was wrong to eavesdrop and it only left me heartbroken once again.

"Be happy with Kyuhyun, okay?"

"Psh. Yeah, right. Promise me you'll still meet up with me, please, Hae?"

"Isn't it a sin to cheat on your spouse?"

"Isn't it wrong to marry someone you don't even love?"

"Sungmin.."

"I will never fall in love with him, no matter how hard he tries"

"You should be thankful to him. If it weren't for him, I wouldn't have even met you"

"Whatever. I should get ready now"

As soon as I heard them getting dressed, I decided to head straight to my car and go to the Church. Their conversation kept repeating inside my head that I turned to another direction and drove away. If she won't ever fall in love with me, then maybe I should just cancel the marriage.

END OF KYUHYUN'S POV
Sungmin thought about Donghae's words and her memories with Kyuhyun kept playing inside her mind. He had been very good to her and he always made sure that she was happy. She then realized that none of this was Kyuhyun's fault and that she should try.. No, she should continue falling for him.

Sungmin had always felt something for him, but because she had Donghae, every feeling she had for Kyuhyun was pushed to the back of her heart.

Sungmin finally arrived in front of the Church, but instead of happy people welcoming her, they were all crying as if it was a funeral they were going to attend.

When she got out of the car, Kyuhyun's father approached her and hugged her tight. Maybe he was just really happy for them, she thought, but as soon as he spoke, Sungmin cried harder than him. "Sungmin, Kyuhyun's car fell off a cliff. The police said his body was crushed inside the car. The wedding's off. I'm sorry."

Just when she was ready, he left, for good.

A/N 3: Fail angst. ;___; Belated happy birthday Auntie Riyu and Baby Eli. :D
