i went to the tattoo expo this weekend. this piece was done by Joe Skramstad. he is from MA but was here for a week since its his brothers birthday. his brother eric works at divinity tattoo which is how i found out about him. it was pretty cool since he used to live in hawaii and use to "hunt" octopi to take pictures of them. also is a big zombie fan so he was super excited about this piece. 6 hrs later, it was done. outlines took about 2 hrs, the rest was shading but it was rough. the most ive done before was 4 hrs and at the end of this i wanted to die. pretty much since my leg was so tender and he kept going over the same areas with different colors. oh well, turned out awesome and my leg hurts like hell. im just limping around now. its on my upper thigh, the way the piece flows on my leg it works really well.
the expo was pretty nice, i wasnt expecting anything great but there were some good artists there. divinity had the largest booth which was cool. in the future i would not get something THIS big at an expo again. i didnt expect it to take that long, and it was annoying that people were constantly trying to get around me and all the apprentices were running around. also all the people gawking at me. that was interesting. oh well, all done with.
vegas is next weekend, hopefully it will be mostly healed by then. its scabbing very lightly already only on day 2. i also got some emu oil. im going to see if it works for the scar tissue on my other tattoos. i put a layer of it on my new one last night but it stuck to my boxers, so no dice. lets see if it actually does what it says for reducing scar tissue.
