With heavy hearts and full heads
They slip under their sheets
Chasing sleep and worrying about the day to come
Her violent green eyes fill with tears
He bears his teeth through his pillowcase
Their world is magnificent with conflict
He can't pull it all together
She won't wait forever
She was wounded
He fed off her weakness
Uncontent they remain
It's difficult to see who is better off
His mother screams
Her mother cries
They're hurt by each the same
She worries he'll leave the city
He worries she'll take herself from this world
She fixes her broken heart with prescription
He fixes his with more girls than he can count
They call her obsessive and weak
They call him promiscuous and immature
Only causing more space between
He opens his mouth to speak
She hides her face to sob
They pray for a quick demise.
