If you had told me eight years ago that my favorite character, on that new show Supernatural, would be a recurring character (and an angel at that), I would have laughed right in your face. But, that is exactly what has happened. After watching last weeks ep, I had to finally admit that any affinity that I had for Dean and Sam Winchester is gone. And, that is not a character bash against either character. I just don't feel any connection to their characters at all, now.
Castiel is the only SPN character that still thrills me, followed by Crowley. In fact, the angels/demons storyline is the best part of this season(the best of the last few seasons), in my opinion. The whole recent Winchester drama just bores and disappoints me. Yes, all of that squabbling appears to be resolved now, but I think the damage has been done, at least to this SPN fan.( I might have watched 50% of the ep, you know the half with Cas and Crowley 'nods'). So, over the next few days, I'll be editing my profile to reflect this change in preferences. As for my journal layout, my buddy
deans_fetish was gracious enough to design this TFW theme for me, so I'll keep it a while longer, I think. She does such beautiful work. :)
This feeling of detachment is also affecting my fic reading habits. I have zero desire to read any S8 Wincest fics (I feel as though it no longer exists on the show). Other than a couple of SPN AU WIPs, I no longer read SPN slash fic, nor do I partake in J2 any more. I now find solace in my other fandoms, as the H50, Merlin, TW, Sherlock, and QAF fandoms seem to still be alive and well.
I guess the old phrase about never saying never certainly does ring true. 'sighs' Fandom is peculiar thing, sometimes, isn't it?
