Sigh, I go away for 2 weeks, and come back to problems. I went to go pick up my old Mazda from the long term parking area (had to park it there while I was away for Christmas break), and discovered that 1) the battery was dead and 2) I had a $200 fine (plates were expired). Sigh. I had let the registration lapse, due to laziness and the incorrect belief that as a military member I had a year of leeway on registration (something I had been told numerous times, but now know to be untrue).
So today I paid the fine (ouch :( ), and called to donate the car to charity. It should be picked up sometime this week (which is another issue...getting permission from my unit to take time off of class to take care of it). The good news though, is that I'll finally be rid of the car.
In other news, I got a notice of a class action lawsuit in the mail. Turns out someone is suing Musicland (ie Suncoast) for failure to pay wages and denial of meal/rest breaks. I'm sending in my claim form...who knows? I might get $5 out of this deal.
