today, my friends, is a day for the lucky green kitty hat.

So the dog's roneryness finally got greater than his desire to NEVER SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM AS THAT CAT and I spent the entire night clinging to the side of the bed and wondering how it is that the human at least 120 lbs heavier than the two animals combined ends up with a slender strip of bed. I mean, Oliver, sure, he is aggressive in his bed hoggery, but you would like to think that the cat would not manage to get me to the side of the bed so easily.

Mom and Cecil are due back tomorrow night, which is good because the dog has obviously decided they are dead, and also the cat's attachment to me has grown to the point where he refuses to go away and be crazy in the head somewhere else, but wants to do it in the room with his only human. It is slightly bad because even with efforts to keep house looking tidyish it still looks like the Cat Liberation Society has been staging nightly meetings and hoe-downs in the living room. The cat of course denies everything. Well, w/e, the dishes are kept up with and I just have to tackle Mount Laundry, sweep again and vacuum around. It is super fun times sweeping with a kitten helping you.

Also the kitten is making ominous burping sounds, and now I'm wondering uneasily if I should go get him some hairball remedy. I'm sure for the number of times I've snatched wool away in the nick of time, he's eaten at least three pieces.

Man, you know they're desperate for votes when they bother combing through the registered Independent voters, I have got two at least accusing Jeff Merkley of being a goddamn city slicker Portlander who doesn't give a rat's ass about the rest of Our Fair State and another couple all about how I should vote on such and such measures. And Ralph Nader is running again! I loev Nader, he's so stubborn about it. It does seem like a nice innocent hobby to have if you have the money for it. Running for President all the time. Plus he's actually stopping by in Oregon during the finals, unlike Obama and McCain. I still dunno who I'm going to vote for -- it goes against the grain to vote for one of the major parties and yet the thought of McCain in office makes my teeth hurt, so we'll see.

Four fingers down, six to go! orz I haven't been working on it very steadily since I spent the week at work and cleaning fleece. Which is mostly dry after an exasperated trip through the dryer on low (honestly, this climate) and packed away for further processing in a kitten proof location.

rl, katz
