I may or may not be spinning purple and green yarn on a purple and green spindle.
......BRING IT ON, BABY FANGIRLS, I'M OLDER AND MEANER AND HAVE CRAZIER IDEAS THAN YOU COULD EVER HOPE TO HAVE.
Three spindles I made today! One is this one for Amy:
As you can see, the charm point is the engraved arrow going clockwise. It spins pretty well, I think. It's about an ounce and a half, and about three inches or so in diameter. Another was the purple and green one, which is about the same size but a little lighter. The third required some ingenuity with a wire and the type of glue where you're supposed to hold your breath when you use it for the hook, but it is drying and if it stayed put like I hope, it is a tiny and adorable lace spindle. I used the method that
dipping_sauce linked to me of making swirly beads, which worked out very well. All three of them are friction-fitted, although the purple and green one needed encouragement with a piece of tape. I'll see if Amy wants hers glued for security, although it's pretty tight as it is and she can wriggle it into being a top or bottom whorl spindle if she wants to practice one or the other.
Mom thinks I should try to sell them, I dunno myself.
