annnnd so apparently the resident's son who said, I have some yarn you can use! is under the impression that 'some yarn' means two huge bags of vintage wool/mohair?
Lynette and I almost had heart attacks and died. Most of it is mustard yellow but I have a lot of light tan and about ten skeins of dark brown now, and I'm going to get it clean and then maybe do a wrap for Sea Dog. Then 123 miraculously showed up and made off with about ten skiens herself (she loved the mustard yellow, much to nobody's surprise) and the rest is going to be carefully doled out because 232 has yarn senses that tingle. Activities Volunteer will put her hand on a Bible and solemnly swear that 232 will not even be in the room and she will put yarn out in the room and 232 will appear within thirty seconds.
...I actually have more than enough of the light tan to make a sweater but I have a sinking feeling that it would look like I was wearing a dead animal.
