I think I've seen those (where Shuuei tops) and ...well, it's pretty. And kinda hot entirely implausible but fandom doesn't work on laws of plausibility.

Shuuei ends up topping everyone in japanese fan art. Except when any of his brothers are forcing themselves on him (sometimes all at once). I'm a little afraid of the sudden influx of Shuuei x Reishin fan art, the mixing of my two favourite pairings in a way that cuts out my favourite part of those pairings and then turns Reishin into a weak, small man who needs to be dominated by the much bigger Shuuei ...

Reishin isnt even small, damn it!

Worse yet, while there seems to be a fair amount of Reishin/Kouyuu Japanese fanfic, the fan art is almost exclusively Kouyuu/Reishin.

Big, beefy Kouyuu raping/taking advantage of girly!Reishin. I swear, Kouyuu often has muscles.

I cried. Then laughed. Then swore never, ever to go back to those sites again.

... I still haven't quite gotten over it. I mean, I know that I'm totally biased and there are things that I find acceptable for pairings I like that I wouldn't if they weren't my favourite pairing (fan art of chibi!Kouyuu hitting on Reishin? Cute!), but there are some things that push my 'opposite' buttons. Muscle!Kouyuu is one of them. Rapist!Kouyuu is the other - especially when it comes to Reishin. I can totally see Kouyuu doing something stupid and making the first move, but Kouyuu doesn't even know what comes after the first move other than running away as quickly as possible (and likely into a pillar or wall). In Kouyuu's world, that probably IS second base.

... and, I don't know why I'm ranting about Japanese fan art, because the crack element of it is what often makes it so fabulous.

yeah but there's crack and then there's 'are we watching the same source here?'. I guess it's because Reishin is otherwise such a classic bitchy uke. But noooo not around Kouyuu.

Kouyuu would be all "Oh shit! I just kissed Reishin-sama! RUNAWAAAA--" and Reishin would be all "STOP RIGHT THERE" and he would freeze and slink back with a look like he thought Reishin was going to smack him on the nose with a newspaper and then Reishin would go all Hmmph, and there would be a lot of porn and artistic plum blossoms drifting around.

Where ever Kouyuu and Reishin are, there should be artistic cherry blossoms. *sighs* I have about three stories on my computer that start pretty much at '"Oh shit! I just kissed Reishin-sama! RUNAWAAAA--"' and none of them will ever be completed. Why do I suck so much at writing my favourite pairing? It's a good thing I love Shuuei/Kouyuu as much as I do, because I find it far easier to write.

My thoughts on how Reishin/Kouyuu would work are a little ... complex. If that is even the right word. Normally, I can see my pairings being equal both in and out of the bedroom, but Kouyuu is different because he wouldn't want Reishin simply as a lover, but as a father as well, which makes things complicated and a leeetle bit twisted. Of course, Reishin wouldn't stop seeing Kouyuu as his son simply because he took Kouyuu to bed, and so there is this extra power dynamic that few other pairings have. And, because they aren't really father and son and therefore there is instead this need and desire on Kouyuu's part for them to be father

That makes sense to me. I tend to see Seiran as bottoming more often than not.
