Agreed. I mean, they've turned the guy into a plot device in his own right. A plot device that is used across approximately four-fifths of the TRC fic out there >.>

Although really, I'm still kind of witholding judgement on the whole Fay and Ashura thing, because even though it's clear that there is a Dark Past (tm) there, Clamp seems to be sticking to the personalities they gave characters in their respective original series, and Ashura-ou really wasn't that bad in RG Veda. Possibly cosmically stupid, but nowhere near abusive.

I know, which is why I always go o___o everytime I see a fic portraying him as the big, bad rapist, because there'll be some part of my brain that insists in a tinny voice "but-but he's the one that's supposed to *cough* get taken advantaged of, not the other way around!" >.>

Haha, I don't even like RG Veda and now I'm feeling mildly sorry for Ashura-ou. Even though he was mighty DUMB.

The splash pages in TRC with Ashura-ou (so far) have all portrayed him as withdrawn and depressed. Not usually the qualities of a dictator-rapist.
