Sakura wins the race, there's a party in the Piffle World ... blimp? thing? ... and Carl attempts to take the feather. Tomoyo pulls out some sort of ray gun (flinkie tells me it's from Sky Captain) and --

Anyway, Tomoyo yells for Sakura to get the feather RIGHT NOW because the scepter thing they put it in has been broken by the loss of pressure in the ship. It gets sucked toward Carl but Mokona sucks it back and it returns to Sakura, who faints. We cut to Syaoran-gumi's house, where Tomoyo says she's the one that was sabotaging the race.
Fye says that Kurogane suspected it, and when Tomoyo asks why, Kurogane says she had the wrong look on her face when she said she would stop the person doing the sabotage. Tomoyo says he's just like she's heard.
Everybody goes O_o? and Tomoyo says she heard about Kurogane from Tomoyo-hime. Kurogane nearly has a heart attack.
Tomoyo's world had the feather appear about a year before Syaoran-gumi shows up. It gets taken for study by Piffle World, Tomoyo's company. Icchan, incidentally, appears as one of her researchers. Tomoyo has a dream of Tomoyo-hime, who tells her about Sakura-hime's feathers and the people searching for them and warns her that they may appear. (There's a very beautiful image of Tomoyo-hime and Tomoyo standing on water in the dream, with their hands touching, but I'm not going to upload it unless people really start whining.) Tomoyo, this being Tomoyo worlds without end amen, decides that when they appear she'll help them get the feather if at all possible. Tomoyo-hime also tells her about Kurogane in particular.
And then, she says, they came. Syaoran asks her how she knew that they were the right people, and Tomoyo smiles. Shougo says that's it's because she's the leader of Piffle Princess. Both he and Nokoru come in the room, and there's some stuff I'm not sure of about their part in the thing. Although apparently Tomoyo's dream came AFTER they'd decided to offer the feather as a prize, so they couldn't just give it to Sakura. Shougo says that the feather had already come to the attention of people in the country and surrounding countries as well.
Tomoyo says that Tomoyo-hime told her that someone else was after Sakura's feathers, in other worlds as well as this one. Nokoru picks up the story and says that he suggested the feather be the prize in the race then, and Shougo finishes that they thought the person after it would be in the race and they could catch them. Tomoyo says that Tomoyo-hime told her that Kurogane was SURE to enter the race and do his best to win >D (Fye's all ahahaha even in Nihon-kuni you hated to lose~~~ and Kurogane's all >:E SHUT UP) and Nokoru picks up the story again, saying they didn't know what the person trying to get it would do in the race.
So, continues Shougo, in the first race they pulled a trick (the shining powder) to get rid as many potential 'problems' as they could and also to warn Syaoran-gumi about what was going on and get them to be careful during the second race.
Syaoran asks if that's why they did the thing with the 'lie detector' chairs and Shougo basically collapses and wails that he had to miss a DATE with PRIMERA and she was so MAD AT HIM and it was a DATE and he MISSED IT and it was really HORRIBLY HARD acting like that. Mokona pats him on the head.
Nokoru, sparkling, mourns that he was forced to lie to a lady. XDDD Shougo remains slumped over the table with Mokona clutched in his arms while Nokoru wails he thought his heart was going to stop from sheer weight of guilt and Syaoran uneffectively tries to calm him down. Fye, in tones of understanding, says this must be why the Piffle Princess blimp was beside Sakura during the first race. Tomoyo goes "ara..." at him.
He grins at her and points out that if she was just filming she wouldn't have to be that close, would she? Syaoran, looking puppy-eyed, says that Shougo and Nokoru stayed beside Sakura for the finals. Shougo and Nokoru kind of go ^^;; at him and Tomoyo says she asked them to because she couldn't be sure what would happen in the second race, or what someone might try to do for the feather.
But, she says, doing that way put everybody in danger, and it's her fault. (I think this has something to do with the water spout that hurt Kurogane in the final, he got his arm pretty badly trying to protect Sakura.) She begs everybody's pardon (as in bows and says moshiwake arimasen, it was inexcusable of me, more or less. She's really upset.
Then, says Fye, the last geiser must have been...
...Karl-sensei, says Syaoran, looking, um, well, I would say pissed off but that would be like calling the ocean damp.
Sakura wakes up and says, "Tomoyo-chan...?"
Tomoyo hurries to her side. "You're awake? How do you feel?!"
Sakura says she's fine and asks if she can ask her something. "Yes?" says Tomoyo.
"Did you make it so we could win?"
"No," says Tomoyo. "I did pull some tricks, but I didn't --" crap, not sure how to render this, something about how she didn't make it so ONLY Sakura-gumi could win, and smiles brightly "-- because I believed that you would win."
Shougo and Nokoru smile at her.
Sakura smiles sleepily back at Tomoyo. "Thank you," she says, and falls back asleep with Tomoyo's hand in hers. Syaoran looks pretty damn goofy in this shot, like HI I AM IN LOVE goofy, I mean, that sort of smile.
Fye breaks the mood by declaring a party cos they got the feather safely and Sakura won and all, and Nokoru calls his company's catering service, Shougo calls his buddies and Fye AND Mokona try to get Syaoran to drink. XDDD
Syaoran goes eep and chaos pretty much ensues. Kurogane says whatever's fine with him but he wants alcohol dammit, Nokoru's STILL giving orders for food and Shougo is apparently inviting half the town, and Fye's hanging off Syaoran's back whining DRIIINK DRIIIIIINK DRIIIIIIIINK. Tomoyo bends over Sakura, still holding her hand. "The people travelling with you," she says, smiling, "Are really wonderful, aren't they?"
The party's underway (Suoh and Akira! ♥ Primera hanging off Shougo yelling because he hardly ever mails her!), and Syaoran and Nokoru are sitting in the windows, sort of. Nokoru says to Syaoran that everybody looks like they're having fun and Syaoran agrees. There's a little pause and Nokoru says, gently, "Isn't this journey painful?" Syaoran smiles that tight unhappy brave way he gets when he's really trying not to think HOW MUCH HIS LIFE SUCKS and says that it's something he's decided to do for himself.
Also, he adds, brightening slightly, he gets to find out lots of new things. And ... oh LORD, someone put booze in his Pepsi. XDDDDD RIGHT KUROGANE SAN? he says. OH YEAH. I FORGOT TO PRACTICE I HAVE TO PRACTICE!!!!! And then he attempts to use Kurogane's gloves as a sword. XD
Nokoru, incidentally, is filming and remarking he's a hilarious drunk. HOW MEAN. XDDDDDD
Cut to outside their house, where Kurogane has taken a bottle of booze to sit beside the Winged Egg craft. Tomoyo comes out and sits beside him. "Does it hurt?" she says.
"Ahh?"
"Your left hand."
"Nothing to speak of," says Kurogane shortly.
"You really are just like she said."
"You heard that in a dream too?"
"You aren't very angry about it," says Tomoyo.
"Cos it's HER," says Kurogane, irritably. "She won't --" -- something about even invading other people's DREAMS to keep an eye on him? Tanin no yume kurai watarete mo okashikunee.(inarikami says it's "It's not unusual for her to visit other people's dreams". Thanks!) "Humph. Whatever."
"You seem worried," she says. "Would you tell me what's wrong?"
Kurogane is silent. Tomoyo waits.
"How was she, in your dreams?" says Kurogane, finally.
"Very well," replies Tomoyo. "She seemed very pleased when she let you go, did you know?"
Kurogane growls something I'm not sure of but is not flattering to his princess. Probably about her giving him shit or being glad to be rid of him. Mata fuzaketa koto nukashitetan da ro (inarikami again: "She was probably making fun of me, wasn't she.")
"No," says Tomoyo, simply. "She said, if it was you, you would come to understand what true strength was."
Kurogane's eyes widen slightly.
He remains silent, and Tomoyo reaches up gently and wraps her hands around his injured hand. (This is an awesome page, btw.) "Instead of being foolish," she says. "Please get this healed quickly."
Kurogane closes his eyes and looks annoyed but the sort of annoyed that he gets when he's trying not to be Soft. "The same soul, is it?"
"Eh?" says Tomoyo, looking up at him puzzledly.
Kurogane doesn't answer, but looks up at the stars.
