Yes, it is. Endangered too, unsurprisingly.

And they're absolutely adorable. Don't see them often on the beaches of the main islands. They seem to prefer a couple atolls just above us. But occasionally, one will decide to rest on a beach and sunbathe and there's a horrible uproar. The police/life guards/whoever have to put caution tape around the poor creatures (Or the equally struggling green sea turtle) so people leave it alone.

Although I dunno... the monk seal's a little chunky for acceptable SEAL images. unless you found a sleek one.
