i really like easter vigil. the quiet mournful darkness, the shining points of the candles, the sudden flare of joyous light. everybody singing out alleluia like they MEAN it, after not saying it for forty days. a baptism, the baby blinking awake with the first splash of water but not much minding it either way. ...father bud demanding to know why my butt is never there on sundays and amy pointing out she TOLD him I was a christmas-and-easter-er.
obv one doesn't go around talking about Our Christian Faith constantly but I think it informs what I write. I kind of hope it does; I hope it gives it a little compassion and sanity and faith.
