If you were on a starship for a five year mission, and didn't expect to get OFF it more than every six months or so, what would you bring to amuse yourself?
We're going to assume that the ship has an electronic library of everything, ever, so if there's something you would swot up on please feel free to mention it. (I mean, even now it's possible to store thousands of books on a single disk. Which is why I don't really buy the 'piles of PADDs' thing.)
Seriously, guys, what sort of hobbies?
Me, I'd be bringing a lot of yarn, obv, and not just because I like yarn. It's comparatively light for it's bulk and can be compressed easily without much damage, and what the hell, four or five cones of cobweb weight yarn is a couple of thousand meters and should keep you busy the entire trip.
