first off,
One day only! Two hours or so left! HAHAHAHA. I got the ladies' version, I am seriously rocking the hell out all summer long in that summbitch.
Argh, the one person we were desperately praying would not get sick because there was no way in hell we could keep her in one place after she got better enough to not want to sleep all day is indeed sick, which makes us all weep hysterical tears behind our surgical masks and terrible, terrifying isolation gowns.
Bound off the sleeves of the FLS! (Okay non-knitters cover your eyes -- when I separate the sleeve stitches from the rest of the knitting in an top-down one-piece cardigan, what I do is take cotton yarn and a crochet hook and do a crochet bind-off. Doesn't fall off and when you get the stitches active again it just unzips itself like a lamb. ...I do recommend you only undo a couple of stitches at a time and have a smaller needle ready to grab them. Non-knitters can keep reading now.) I actually worked day shift today because Boss was so desperate she didn't care if I came in After The Bus Got There, and I got in at 6:10, not so bad.
So afterward I oozed over to Knit-Purl, got an opinion about the sweater ("Is it better to get exact stitch count, and have it stop at an awkward bit of the repeat, or decide to screw it, and stop at the start of a repeat?" ".... repeat.") I'm sure it will end in tears somehow but at least this time around I'm not PURLING THROUGH THE BACK LOOP down the entire length of a sweater, so I think I can live with slightly wonky sleeves. Lindsey was all, I wish I could be zen like you about matching stuff -- the discussion came up about sock lengths and my personal philosophy has always been, DUDE IF I WANTED IT TO BE PERFECT I WOULD BUY MACHINE-MADE. Of course one wants it to look nice, and all, but to hell with exactness.
...I guess I am a very zen knitter, come to think of it.
Well whatever =w= people pay good money to have hand made and one of a kind!
Have to go dig up my shorter #5 needle, though; I had it on a 47" while I was doing that hell-yoke and now I have like, a foot of cord getting in my way and making me swear. ...more.
