I'm very frustrated at MMOs recently. I've been playing WoW since June or some time near then, and I still don't have a character that's even worth looking at. Now I realize that its my own fault for not sticking with a character, but the game gets to boring so fast for me. All of the races are boring and all of the classes have blatantly annoying weaknesses. (Most of which is daze effects.) My tauren warrior gets his ass beat by everything that moves due to the fact that he's completely vulnerable to all special attacks. My night elf rogue can't take a hit to save his life (which is to be expected) but since I have 56k, I can't react the way I need to and spend most of my time dead. And there's nothing really wrong with my human paladin. However, with my rogue and paladin, I'm stuck. The rogue can't complete anymore quests, and the paladin doesn't have anymore until he levels. And for everyone that hasn't played WoW, grinding in that game is the absolutely most boring thing ever! My paladin has 40k to next level and if I beat something that's supposed to be as hard as I can take, I only get 158 exp. Now it would take me a good hour to two hours to kill enough/wait for respawn to kill that many. Who knows how I'll feel later, but as of right now, I'm so sick of that game!!! There's nothing that really draws me in. The Alliance is a bunch of retards and the Horde is a bunch of fucking assholes.
The worst part is there's no real alternative. FFXI blows ass, along with EQ & EQ2. They fucked SWG up one side and down the other. Guild Wars is for queers. And of course, D&D Online looks absolutely horrendous. Its a fucking sin with what they did to that game. Next year people are going to look back and just say "what a fucking tragedy."
One MMO that's coming out soon is called RF Online. It looks cool, but I have a feeling its going to suck hard. Its a futuristic scifi setting. There's three factions: Aliens, Magic People and Mech Pilots. Unfortunately, their web site is retarded stupid and that's all the information I can get out of it. Everyone knows about my boner for mechs, so the game caught my eye. However, I'm not so inept as to realize that this game is produced by CodeMasters and therefore more then likely is going to be worse the Star Wars Galaxies new game engine. I think I'm going to reserve it so I can try the beta.
If I like it, I may stick with it, depending how I feel about WoW in a couple days. If it sucks (which my money is on) and I still can't stand WoW, I think I'll just quit playing MMOs. At least for awhile.
And lastly, anyone that believes WoW's endgame sucks, clearly don't remember trying to level and not being able to do jack shit until lvl 45-55. Fuckers...
