another week
Another week rolls to a close.
I am grabbing a quick lunch in amongst a hectic day so that I can read about Shawn's adventures in the middle of nowhere.
Fall semester starts up here soon, which makes things busy for me as the new postdocs, graduate students, and researchers arrive, but more importantly, it means that the campus is slowly returning to life!
Through the summer, the campus is at its most beautiful but has a weird empty feeling as most of the people are gone. I started noticing this week that things are filling up ... both good and bad. More people sitting on the grassy knoll enjoying their lunches but also more people standing in line ahead of me waiting for coffee.
Looking outsisde too, I am envious of my good friends who are climbing on their bikes nowish in search of a ride to the ferry and camping beyond. Should be a good weekend for it.
I will have to placate myself with house cleaning, wall painting, and mojitos with my lovely wife-to-be.
