ironic swimming metaphors
Three weeks ago, I posted about finally getting approval to hire a new minion.
Well, what that really meant, is I was free to go and look for a new minion but there was still internal paperwork, etc that had to be done before I could actually offer anything to potential minions. So, last week, that paperwork finally done, I emailed/called the three names I had found and then promptly got sick.
Now, a week later, I am back at my desk, sorting through things and realizing that I really need to have that person hired by weeks end, and of the three potential applicants, two are unavailable for August (making them not very useful) and one never called me back.
I guess I am off to the student employment centre, but I hate having to rush through things like this. I want my last week back.
On that note though, if anyone here knows a UBC student who wants full time work through the summer then 5 - 10 hour per week flexible work through the school year, feel free to send them my way. Ideally looking for someone with decent organization skills and at least average computer skills (mostly an organization job).
