The Trio is still badass

Chrissy and I had a good time last night at a show called "Acker and Blacker's The Thrilling Adventure & Supernatural Suspense Hour".  The show is based on old radio shows from the WWII era, and is divided into three comedy acts.  Each act contained its own list of several B and C-list actors from TV and voice actors from cartoons performing, and each skit continues each month. Oh, and each skit had several musical moments. Brilliant! (You can see more at www.workjuice.net )

Each act was hillariously written, but part of the fun was just trying to figure out how we recognized the actors on stage. Act three "Beyond Belief"  starred Currie Graham as a drunken detective. During a flash back to his childhood, two of the three members of the Trio from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (Danny Strong and Tom Lenk) came out to play younger versions of the actors on stage. I was kind of surprised by how short all of them are in real life, but they're still hillarious.

After the third act was over, a band called Common Rotation came out to play folk music. And guess who the lead singer was?  Adam Busch!  The third member of the Trio!  Woot!  He's gotten a lot skinnier, but he has a good voice and he can really rock a harmonica and xylophone.

Here's a list of the actors involved in each act:

Act 1:  Sparks Nevada, Marshall on Mars - in which Sparks is confronted by his ex- the beautiful red, and discovers his wife is a shapeshifter from jupiter.
Evan Jackson
Mark Gagliardi
Annie Savage

Interlude: "One Minute History with Marc Evan Jackson" - The audience is told the Wright Brothers were from Brooklyn, that Oriville had a beard, and was jealous or Wright's wife Kitty hawk.

Act 2: Colonel Tick Tock Time - In which the Wright Brothers, and Wright's wife Kitty Hawk, are saved from a flying dinosaur
Craig Cackowski
Annie Savage
John DiMaggio
John Ennis
