Paint a Pretty Picture

So a month ago pprfaith wrote Pockets Full of Stones, which is a fabulous White Collar/Thor crossover that I adore to death. But that's not the point. The point is that about halfway through, she describes a series of paintings that Neal did, one of which hit me like a ton of bricks. The description is as follows:

The one that Peter can’t stop staring at is of a huge, golden chamber. At the very center, a small figure, almost childish, kneels. Covered in red. Blood.

Brief, yes, but very sharp. I decided to paint it. Futher descriptions fleshed out my mental image:

Golden walls, tiled floors, heavy tapestries in reds and browns. There'd be an inlay of Yggdrasil in the center of the floor that catches the blood nicely, and pillars. Lots of pillars in an oval pattern around the tree inlay. And no windows, so torch light all around.

A child's persective, looking in on the action from the edge of the room, since it's Nari's memory of the thing. The man is small, in relation, and facing away from the viewer, probably toward the invisible throne end of the room, i.e., sideways in relation to the viewer.

Fi said she'd like to see my concept sketches, so here they are. Hope you like it, hun.

thor, because i have nothing else to do, art, white collar, movies make me happy, everything is peaches and nothing hurts, friends, fanfic, i'm so thrilled i can't even, tv
