wowwww. so sorry, it's been awhile since i've updated. haven't really felt like it i guess. so we had two weeks off for easter break (yayyyyyyy) and i went up to airlie beach in the whitsunday islands. if you get a chance, google that to get pictures. it's b-e-a-uuuutiful. the photos i took didn't do it justice. i'm assuming you've seen them on webshots, but if not, GET ON IT!!! good stuff. and some pretty silly random photos as well..... but anyway. so yeah, we went snorkeling on the reef which was wonderful. even found nemo, but alas, no sea turtles. so it goes.

had a pretty chill week when we got back before classes started, and then i've pretty much just been hanging out doing minimal work for the past week. i'm such a slacker. it's ok though, because next semester's going to kick my ass. i've had a bit of a crazy time with finances lately. i got a letter from usq saying that they owed me almost 8,000 AUD (about 6,500 USD) so i was like, cool!!! don't have to worry about paying for next year, i can go to nz to visit melissa, woo hoo. and then i got an email from cis (the program i came here through) saying that simmons sent my financial aid to usq instead of to them, so i owe cis about 5,500 USD. fuuuuuuuuuuck. so, i'm still ahead of the game which is nice, but next year is NOT paid for (so i have to, yet again, work my ass off this summer and still not make enough money), and i can't go to nz. motherfucker. "bollocks to that", as dirk would say. (friend of mine here, keeping me up to date on aussie/british slang)

good news however: melissa (good friend of mine from elementary/high school goes to moho a.k.a. mt. holyoke) is coming on friday for the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HOT DAMN!!!!!!!! i'm so psyched. it'll be grrrreeat to see someone from home, and we always have a pretty crazy time. now i just need to figure out stuff for us to do...... it's ANZAC weekend (don't really know what that is, something to do with a treaty between aust and nz i think. i believe they have a joint army or something???? really no idea though...). so yeah, a bunch of people won't be here, but it'll still be cool.

and that's about it. katherine and melanie and i hung out with two guys from downstairs (dave and dirk, as quoted earlier). they're helping me compile a list of aussie slang which is highly amusing. dirk spent a year in england/ireland, so he's adding that to it too. yayyy. we watched "napoleon dynamite", a great flick if you haven't seen it. dave lives on a cattle farm in the middle of nowhere (almost outback) new south wales, and invited us to his house for a weekend. well, apparently both he and his parents invited us, so that's cool. i'll get to see the outback afterall, and won't spend much money. not sure how his girlfriend's going to feel about him showing up with 4 older american girls though. hahahhahaha. it'll be interesting.

i surpose that's about it for now, check out my photos on webshots (there's a link in my facebook profile) i just added a few the other day, and i'll get some more photos from my friends, namely one of (inebriated) dirk finding his belly-button at dinner. don't ask.
