"Admit it, I can see it in the way you look at me..." Anthony said, trying to convince his best friend it's okay to show his emotions.
"Anthony, you're seeing ghosts, I'm not gay. I mean, I never had a problem with you being gay but I.. I.. I just like girls" was the simple answer.
"Liar"
"I'm not lying! You're my best friend and I obviously love you, but just as my friend, as my bro, my buddy, my other half.."
"You're... other half? And that doesn't sound gay to you.. at all?"
Anthony finally saw some hesitation in Ian's eyes, he was finally getting somewhere and couldn't prevent himself from smiling a little bit.

Ian recovered soon enough and his eyes hardened again.
"Off course not, I mean, we live together, we work together, we do everything together, obviously I see you as the most important person in my life, but it's just that I don't have feelings for you like that!"
"Oh, so how are you going to explain the way you kept staring at me when I came out of the shower, just wearing a towel? Or when I had to snap my fingers in front of your face because you were drifting away by looking in my eyes? Or, when I caught you mumbling my name in your sleep?"
"Yeah, it's not my fault nightmares keep following me all my life" Ian said with an arrogant smirk.
This was so typical Ian, trying to get out of it by joking around and trying to diss Anthony.
Anthony could almost hear Ian's mind singing "Ian, the master of comebacks!" but he didn't out loud.
Probably only because this conversation was getting a little bit to serious to start singing, even for Ian.
While Anthony snapped out of his thoughts, he saw Ian standing there, triomfantically looking like he already won the battle, his hands placed in his thighs.

Oooh no, not this time, this time he wouldn't get away until he spoke the truth.
It was time for action, Anthony decided, and he took a step closer to Ian, which immediately resulted in Ian taking a few steps back.

"Dude, what are you doing?" Ian said, a little bit nervous.

"I need you to tell me the truth Ian, I'm sick of your lying, denying, everything. Sometimes, truth needs a little push before it dares to come out, and I'm gonna give you that little push, I will convince you that I know what's going on inside that hart of yours..." Anthony said with a steady voice, while he took another step closer in Ians direction.

Yet again, Ian took a step back, feeling himself bump into the wall. He couldn't get any further away from his crazy best friend, which was recognizing the panic that has formed in his eyes by now. He made fists out of nervosity and could feel his hands were sweaty. "Anthony, s- stop, just stop it.." he now whispered, a lot more insecure than he was just some seconds ago.

Anthony smiled an evil smile, he knew exactly what he was doing.
Especially now he managed to drive Ian into the corner. They were only a few inches away, their bodies almost touching. Anthony reached for Ian's hand, and off course Ian reacted by pulling away.
"I mean it Anthony, just stop it already" Ian said, placing a hand on Anthony's chest to keep the little distance he had left. He could feel Anthony's slightly muscular chest beneath his shirt and stared at his own hand, resting on it.
"You like the feeling, don't you? It could be yours if you want Ian, if you would just give in and stop lying to me, to the world, and especially, to yourself..."
Ian was still staring at his own hand, almost in disbelief of what was happening. There was a war going on his head. "Maybe, Anthony is right.. maybe I do love him more than I thought..." he was thinking.
He immediately got two replies to his silent question.
"Of course he's right, who do you think you're fooling?!" his heart said.
"No, he's not, you're normal, you're not a freak, you like girls." his brain said.

While Ian had his inner monologue, Anthony reached for Ian's hand again, and to his surprise, he didn't pull back. Anthony's heart was doing a little happy-dance, trying not to freak out, since he thought you could hear his heartbeat from a mile away by now. He was at the point of giving up, at the point of believing Ian's lies, but he saw the change and he knew it was time for the next step.
The most risky step, the most dangerous one, the one who could leave him a kick in the nuts, or a slap in the face.
Or the one who could leave him... a boyfriend, the one he always desired to, the one he always had loved.

Anthony slowly put their hands down next to his body, and closed the little gap which was still left between them.
"I love you Ian" he said, carefully but subtle watching his best friends face. It finally showed emotion, he could finally see the stream of feelings break free in his beautiful sky blue eyes, which were starting to get a little watery.
But still, he didn't get any reply.

He slowly leaned in, but not wanting to shock his best friend, he just gave him a kiss in his neck.
It was the sweetest kiss in history, he softly pressed his lips against the pale skin, noticing Ian's musky, mascular smell.
When he pulled back and looked up, he saw Ian's cheeks flushed with a light shade of red, and his eyes totally blown away. He couldn't look any cuter.

Finally, Ian mumbled: "I... I... I g-guess I love you too, Anthony."
Yeah, sometimes truth definately needs a little push, Anthony decided.
