I’m selling my bicycle. It’s a boy style. I find it too big for my little legs so if you’re only a fraction taller than me it would still be suitable. It’s never been used. If you’re interested let me know. Then I can get a new one for me and ride to work every day!
I’ve decided that I really want to name my first son Basil, after Basil Gray who wrote “Buddhist cave paintings at Tunhuang”. I haven’t read it, but processing a request for the book made me see BASIL in all it’s glory and I think it would be geeky/hilarious/lame to name a child Basil. It immediately makes me think of Basil Faulty, even though I’ve never seen an episode of Faulty Towers in my life.
In other news, the new courier guy at work is young and has a cute accent. It’s something to look forward to each day. Young people are a rarity in my line of work.
My first assignment for uni is due on Tuesday. I’ll be spending as much time as possible over the long weekend doing some reading and finishing my assignment. I stress myself out worrying about getting things done, and whether I’ve made the right decision taking this path for my career. And then I realise that I find the things I’m reading really interesting, and that I value my profession highly even if it is undefined and misunderstood in the greater community. I just need to be able to find a place for myself. I see more for myself than being the 24-year-old amongst the 40+-year-olds. I realise that I’m on the path to actualising what I envisage as my future, and I guess I just have to stress-less, take it as it comes and be patient.
We're in the midst of our free Bigpond Movies trial. So far we've watched Boytown and Little Miss Sunshine. Boytown is one of those Australian comedies that are funny but not in a memorable way, but will undoubtedly grow on you. Just singing the lame tune is hilarious in itself. Little Miss Sunshine is possibly one of the best movies I've seen in a long time. I like movies pretty easily, but I know what is appealing to just me and what is appealing to other people. Most people will like this. If they don't, they're fucking morons.
Brent and I have started playing squash. It seriously works my ass. Gotta love it.
