You know those glorious, insanely long stories which make you forgo sleep and eating and TV ( and LJ ), stories which you simply can't stop reading and you can't stop thinking of the characters for days afterwards? Stories that make you quite incapable of doing anything else. Well, this is one of those.
Off The Reservation by Emwebb17. SPN RPS AU, Jensen/Misha. 126,514 words, NC-17.
Summary: Jensen is a young corrections officer on his first job at LA County's maximum security prison. Misha is an inmate with no sense of personal boundaries. After unwittingly helping Misha escape prison, Jensen is utterly lost until Misha comes back for him. And living with a contract killer is every bit as complicated as one might expect.
Okay, so this is ( mostly ) smut. But it's not *just* smut, it's also an incredible story of a young man hopelessly falling in love with a psychopathic killer, a killer with no empathy who gets his buzz from blood and killing and who sees people simply as objects. No, this is not a story of how Jensen changes Misha for the better ( Misha is no Jason Bourne. Think the other assasins in the Bourne trilogy ), and it's not a story of how Misha turns Jensen into a hardened assasin either. This is a story of how two very different people can fall in love ( even if one of them doesn't quite realize that ) and continue to be in love without one changing the other - and they live psychopathically ever after ... A lovely, lovely read ( and scorching HOT! ), one that I've dreamt of reading for a long time ( Lol, I almost couldn't believe it when I found this! ).
There had been a moment that night when Jensen had completely forgotten about who Misha was and what he did and that he just wasn’t like other people. For a moment they had just been two friends, lovers, enjoying a common interest. And in the dying light Misha had taken Jensen’s face in his hands, and Jensen had seen the whole of who Misha was in the steady, calm, accepting blue of his eyes.
