I am engaged!

So, I want to tell you this story.

David and I have already been planning to get married for several months, and we took a trip to Boston to meet my parents, so I've been calling myself "betrothed." I thought we would get engaged a week or two afterward, but David didn't want to propose in the usual way.

Last week he told me his friend Dong Woo won 3 tickets to to the baseball game, right next to the cheerleaders (I like cheerleaders). Now, I like baseball, and I know David doesn't, so I didn't want to ask too many questions.

So yeah, we had good seats (we usually get the $8 seats) and I was happy to meet one of David's friends that I didn't know already...although David kept making him take pictures of us, which I thought must have been burdensome, and I didn't want him to feel like a third wheel. But he didn't seem to mind.

Around the fourth inning, there was a break (it had been two and a half hours...Korean games don't move very fast) for the proposal, which David very casually pointed out to me. I noticed that it was sponsored by our wedding planner...but still didn't REALLY think it would be us until this came onto the screen:

And then, up we went, onto the stage.

And therefore, my friends, I have been absolutely filled with joy for five days. I think I am coming back down to earth now, finally.

Honestly, the most amazing thing about all this, for me personally, is that David knew my ring size without asking. He never measured me, I don't own any rings, so I know he didn't check them. He just said, "Do you know how many times I've held your hand in the past two and a half years? Of course I know your ring size."

But really? I'm impressed, personally.

Also, his parents made a separate video, which originally was going to be used for the screen, but the formatting didn't work, so here it is for you instead.
