So, I discovered that there is such as thing as job jet lag. When you start your new job five hours earlier than your old job, it takes some time to adjust, and it's not always pretty.

On Monday I came home and fell asleep at 5:30 PM and didn't wake up until 1:30 AM, when David showed up at my house, panicked because he thought something horrible had happened to me, since I hadn't answered any of his five phone calls or three text messages. Nope, just sleeping like the dead.

I am doing better now, but still not quite adjusted. The students at my new school are very cute and extremely energetic, so I am pretty exhausted at the end of the day. I need to learn how to take a break without taking a nap. We'll see how that goes.

In other news, I have been reading a lot. I finished Middlesex, which my friend Sarah lent me, and which was amazing, after you get over the cyclical writing style. Now I am reading The Happiness Project, which is a great concept, but the writing is extremely disappointing. It's pretty much a case study for why we teach young writers to "show, don't tell." Oh well. Serves me right for choosing books cause they have pretty covers.

This weekend, my drum class begins again! Hooray!
