Raven's Children was definitely a case of "write what you want to read" in the worldbuilding department. I absolutely loved (and still do love) detailed, immersive worldbuilding. It took me awhile to start getting the hang of presenting an immersive world without completely overwhelming the reader with unexplained detail, however.
