WY's last show.. boo!

Oh man!
So yesterday was interesting.  I traded shifts so that I would be able to go to a show... I actually had a decent time working a lunch shift even though it yielded little money.  I had the Danzig grocery list song stuck in my head and laughed often... even though Annie was there.  It was a good feeling, not to mention before the shift started, I went to PT, grocery shopped, picked up my BC, went to campus, dropped off the last of the thank you gifts AND got great advice from Prof. Fertig.

*The advice pertained to my current academic pickle of German and Linguistics or German and Comp. Lit.  German Ling. is comfortable and well-known for me but German and Comp. Lit. presents an interesting alternative.  Prof. Greaney at CU said that the paper that I wrote for DK's ENG412 on Beckettian Linguistics displayed "an incredible amount of academic maturity" and was one of the reasons why I was the only one accepted into the program this year.  I got to thinking, "man, they really liked that paper?  It wasn't really work!  It was fun!  Hey, maybe I could do this kind of stuff all of the time!"  His advice was sound and it gets these rusty gears turning.*

Anyway, White York was playing a show and they were supposed to go on and do another set of all covers.  Alex mentioned that they were going to do a UV Rays cover and after much mocking and him calling me a wimp and a chicken, I agreed to do the vocals... so, we practiced and it sounded pretty good... I also sang on a Fifth Hour Hero song, which wasn't so good.  They didn't actually end up playing the cover set because not only did the show start really late, whoever really awesome person at Staples thought it would be a good idea to have two shows at the same time... so inbetween each set, this shitty bar band played and the other bands weren't allowed to play until they were done.
It was a bad idea.
WY played well and it was their last show... which is kind of sad.  There weren't many people there but it was good anyway.  A couple people from work came to watch and that was nice.  Dan, Kathy and I made veg. tacos before the show and it was fun seeing the both of them.  Metal Dan came out and called us wimps because we weren't staying out until the bars closed.  Oh well, I could never be a part of that lifestyle.
Kathy and I have vowed to smush two years worth of friendship in two months.  I'm looking forward to it and having a lot of fun... but a part of me wants to detach myself from it so that I don't miss her when she's gone.  It's dumb, I know.
Running today, work later... The BPAC 6-hour ultra-marathon is tomorrow.  I really wish that I could have been in good enough shape to do it.  There's a half marathon a week from today that I'd really like to be able to do, I'm going to have to work hard this week.

Alex moves in tomorrow.  I guess this will be a good indicator of what the future will be like, right?  I think everything will be alright.

GO OUTSIDE AND PLAY!
