CU versus UW-Madison

I had a fantastic time in Colorado!

Details?  Yes?

Kristen, Mike and I ate out at an awesome vegan restaurant (that we've been to before) which has Genny Cream Ale on their guest tap.  Vegan buffalo wings and vegan pizza, it was great!  I went for a run in the high altitude and just about had a heart attack... ehh.
The next morning we all hung out and Kristen and I got coffee and went to church to visit Chris Johnson!  He was so surprised and elated.  He recognized Kristen before he recognized me.  We then ended up meeting Courts, Bird and Wes at Coors Field for a Rockies game... which, surprisingly, was a lot of fun.  Kristen made veg. enchilladas for dinner and then we went out for ice cream at a place called Lik's... we picked up Courts and Bird and it was nice.
We went over to Bird and Wes' nearly $2000 per month loft apartment and LoDo and I was blown away.  Talk about cosmopolitan!  It was extremely stylish with leather couches and a gigantic flat screen tv and marble and stainless steel appliances!  I still can't believe that people my age can somehow afford this lifestyle.  We all went out and drunken acts of debauchery occurred (ie: bathroom wet paper towel volleyball between the men and women, yeeah!) and general good conversation.
Extremely hung over, Courts and Bird picked me up early to bring me to Boulder early in the morning where I had a fantastic time.  I met almost every single one of the faculty members between Monday and Tuesday and they organized lunches between me and the graduate students.  I went to my hotel room that they set up for me in Boulder (when I had a break in the middle of the day) and Courts and Bird met me there and somehow after figuring out the formula for measuring the volume of testicles, we conducted scientific experiments on a reluctant Bird.  I went to class laughing, laughing.  Afterward, a few grad students and I headed out to downtown Boulder to meet Professor Greaney (head of the grad program) out to a quite fancy restaurant where we had cocktails and spinach asiago fondue and salads.  It seemed all very hip and strangely, I was ok with it.  I didn't have to pay a dime for any of the food that I ate while I was there.  They treated me like a queen!
After dinner, I met up with Courts, Bird, Bird's friends and Chris to drink at The Sink, where Robert Redford used to work.  The artwork on the walls is incredible and to prevent people from destroying it, they allow you to draw on the ceiling.  How fun.
All too early, I woke up to make it to a basic TA course (like GER 101) but not before eating some continental breakfast (I get so excited by hotels! I dont know why I feel like I'm not old enough to be at one by myself... haha!) and the rest of the day was crammed full of classes and meetings.  It was exhausting. In the meantime, Courts and Chris went out skiing and they had a great time.  TAs are required to attend Stammtisch at a local dive bar and so I was there... and exhausted... I had to text Courts to come and pull me out of there.  I just needed to crawl into bed...
So we got a bottle of wine, a deck of cards and just hung out in the hotel room and fell asleep early.  After some flight confusion, we ended up rushing out of Boulder so that I could make my flight out of Denver.  If I didn't miss Aller so much, I would never have wanted to leave.  I had a lovely time and was seriously treated like royalty.

...and then I check my email when I get home and UW-Madison said that they'll be able to make me a financial offer.
Crap!
...after this trip I was convinced that I'd end up at CU Boulder... but UW-Madison does have the best program for me and CU is MA and UW-M is PhD... oh no!

I have to make a decision by Tuesday, yikes!  Its my future staring me in the face and it's pretty scary, I have to say.  Ahhhh!

Aller picked my up at the airport and he bought me dinner.  He even shaved!  We got back to the apartment and he had cleaned the whole place up, did my laundry and bought me flowers.  He even let me have his Double Dog Flying Dog IPA.  What a guy!
CO was great and I can definitely see myself going there.  They work really hard and then they take their time out of school very seriously.  I've never drank so much in my life in a 4 day span but I guess it's just what they do.  I don't think that I could party like that all of the time.

I just went for a horrible run and need to do useful things before I go to work.  (But I don't wanna!)
Blahhhhhhh I want to be back in the mountains!!
