Lists, not listless: summer

Dan and I drove to Roch yesterday to watch White York play the first show on their tour.
They played very well and Alex wrote a new song that affected me very deeply.
It's the first song about me that has ever been written, by anyone, that wasn't about what a terrible person I am.  The words were optimistic, the music was well-written.

...and so things have been.  Since I've started doing yoga and took my mother's advice on trying harder to be happy... I have been happy.  The more happy I am, the better the relationship between Alex and I has been.  I didn't realize that it would ever be so simple.  He likes me, but it's hard to deal with someone who is sad all of the time.  So, since I've been working on being a better person... and happier, things have been really wonderful between us.

...and now he's on tour for the next 2 1/2 weeks.  The first day is always the hardest and I know that it'll get easier as soon as I get into a routine.  It gets easier every time he goes, but that's not a bad thing.  I'm going to make him a big dinner (again) when he gets back-- I think this time I am going to go all out and *maybe* make him some sort of meat dish.  I asked Tim what I should make... that doesn't involve actually ME touching the meat (and something that I can just simply not add the chicken to so that I can eat it) and he said that I'm better off taking him out to dinner!  Hah.

We saw the band the Birthday Suits yesterday-- members of Sweet JAP.  They were fun.  I think there were 6 of us watching, that's ok.  The guy that White York is touring with is not the kind of music that I enjoy listening to... Alex also.  The tour will be interesting, I look forward to hearing stories.
The UV Rays played tonight with Anhiliation Time, to which it was also a good show.  WY is playing with This is My Fist! on Aug 6th and the Regulations are playing on the 9th.  There are lots of races coming up also... this will be a busy end to the summer.

Speaking of summer, it's time for some additions and some satisfactory drawn lines.
With Alex gone, I have a few more additions to make which I'd like to do before he gets back... all goals to prevent me from sitting on the computer too long... errr.. times like these, I suppose.
