so apparently the middle of the night when it's extremely rainy is the time to be able to post.
anyways,
in reverse chronological order:
i just got back from the most amazing hike. i went with micah and troy to get a better view of the most amazing sunset (and only thing that can even come close to being a sunset). troy and i had to peer pressure micah into and i'm not sure any of us really understood what we were getting ourselves into (the pictures will be posted tomorrow on my snapfish account). we had been in the employee dining room talking for a while and then we looked outside and the entire sky was the most amazing pink color. so we figure 'well, if it looks good from here why not hike up to get a better view.' well, "up" as it were was quite literal and it's been raining hard all day so it was a bit of an adventure. when we got to where we were going (it wasn't the top, we couldn't talk micah into it) we went into their employee dining room and raided their fridge. i don't think i've tried climbing that dangerous since ireland, but this one was slightly safer (save for the rain). good conversation, beautiful views, and it was nice to see real rain cos mostly it just drizzles here.
though speaking of which, the day with the most sunlight, which of course for where i am is quite a lot, was spent overcast and raining so mostly the affect was lost.
but yesterday, starting at 11:59pm, some employees put on a production of the merry wives of windsor. it was so good. it started out on the road next to the parking lot. then for the forest scene they had everyone get up and move into the forest. the acting was high quality.
i had a job interview today that went well. of course it's hard to want the job since i'm doing all this fun stuff but ultimately i feel my place is in disaster relief (or at the very least out of retail). but, we shall see. i can't say i wouldn't enjoy the job, i also can't say i wouldn't miss the people and landscape here.
oh, i remember. i've started lying to customers again. since we have to have our "home state" on our name tags and this seems to cause people to think you have some kind of connection just because that state happens to border the one they're from i've started telling people a different city that i moved from everytime. it's best to choose cities with colleges that way it's easier to feign unfamiliarity with the city.
okay, that's really it for now. my hair's dripping wet and i still have to finish that little essay deal before i go to bed (someone asked me to trade shifts so now i have tomorrow off instead of having a 5am. rock!)
