Is it really possible that it's been four years, almost to the minute, that I first held my little boy in my arms? And now he stands next to me to compare height... and when I tell him that he'll be about my height by 10.. he says, "nah, they said it'll be around six :-)"
He spent the early morning today playing with his new star wars tent. He spent time after that playing video games with his dad. Then his Sano Mama (Ashish) took Lucas & Greg to Barnes & Noble to buy books. Four from Ashish for turning 4 and four from Kiran. ((His request for birthday gifts were books & legos. His wishes were most definitely fulfilled!))
He came back to play another level of video game while I showered and got ready... So we could go to the Boston Museum of Science. Where we spent the afternoon following Lucas around. We spent the evening doing the Nepali birthday celebration and eating Chinese food. Followed by Ice cream cake. And then sleep in his new star wars sheets & comforter :-)
I'm noting this in my journal because this was Lucas' most perfect day. This is what he chose. We successfully made a big boy's dream come true :-) If he could do these things every day, he would. Everything from what he loves to do at home (video games) to short trips (bookstore) to day trips (museum) to favorite food (chinese) to the one thing he wishes for every time he blows out the candles or an eyelash (cake)... Yesterday was his birthday party and he truly enjoyed it. But today was his birthday and his perfect day.
Day to day hasn't always been easy with Lucas but it's days like this that make me definitely understand that he is our son. And I love him so much. And he makes me proud. Even when I get so frustrated that I wanna scream.. I'm still so amazingly proud of him. crazy kid...
