[sunday_reveries] Chocolate Kisses

(For penthouselawyer, because what's more healing than Larry/Cora cuteness? And yes, be warned, it's very sugary.)

I am someone else when I'm with you, someone more like myself. ~Original Sin

Larry was on the couch with his laptop, working on some business for the club. He glanced up when the door to Cora's apartment opened. When she moved into the living room a slow grin crept onto his lips. She gave him a look.

"Don't." Her hand came up to silence him, but it didn't work.

"You look beautiful," he said. Despite the fact that she seemed to have been caught in the sudden random downpour that had lasted all of fifteen minutes. Her hair was falling from it's bun and plastered to her face. Her clothes were soaked through and suckered tight to every curve of her body - which, yes, he took his time in observing. Her heels squeaked and her briefcase was soaked.

She glared. "Shut up." She turned towards the bedroom, literally, kicking her shoes off and letting them fall wherever they may.

"But you do," he called after her. "The most beautiful, sexy drowned lawyer I've ever seen." He jumped when one of her shoes came flying down the hallway. Then the bedroom door slammed shut. He frowned. Then he tucked his computer away and got to his feet. He went to the bedroom door and carefully opened it to peek in.

Cora was already in the bathroom starting some hot water in the tub. "Not funny," she pouted slightly.

"I didn't laugh." He stepped over and kissed the top of her head as she sat on the edge of the tub. "I'm a man, sweetie. Seeing a woman soaked to the bone is a turn on. I apoligize."

She gave him a light shove. "Don't get turned on, I'm taking a bath. Alone."

"I just wanted to tell you I'm running out for a minute. I'll be back."

"Mmhmm."

He sighed and leaned down to kiss her lightly. She kissed him back for a moment, then he stood. "Enjoy your bath."

When Larry returned he let himself in and listened for Cora. She was still in the bathroom, so he took his little paper bag and tucked it away safely in the kitchen. Then he went and sat back down on the couch. He got back on his laptop and waited for her to come out.

She did so not much later, pulling her robe tight. She sighed and moved to sit at his side. He put his laptop away again and moved his arm around her shoulders. She leaned against him and he kissed the top of her head.

"How are you feeling?"

"Better," she sighed. Her hand came to a rest on his chest.

"Good." He rubbed her arm and kept her close for awhile. She stayed there quietly. "I have something for you," he said after a bit.

She glanced up, raising both brows. "Do you?"

"Mmmhmm."

"What?"

"Stay here." He gave her arm a squeeze and got up to go to the kitchen.

"Do I look like I'm going anywhere?" She called after him. He said nothing, but came back with the paper bag and settled in beside her. She peered closer. "What is it? I don't smell cake."

"What makes you think I'd bring you cake?"

"Cuz you do," she smirked.

"I didn't this time." He pulled a container from the bag and took off the clear lid to show her. "Chocolate brownie fudge sundae."

"Mmm. Gotta spoon?"

"No. This is for me. You get this." He pulled some Hershey kisses from the bag and held them out. She pouted, this time very noticeably.

"But I want the ice cream."

"But it's my ice cream." He got a spoon and took a bite. "Mmmm."

Cora moved closer, pressing her body close to his. "No fair teasing. You know I hate that."

"This isn't teasing. You want to see teasing, let's go to bed." He grinned. She didn't smile. He watched her and she stuck her lip out more. He smirked slightly and ran his thumb against her lip. "Fine. Take my ice cream. Leave me with nothing." He handed her the bowl and she grinned as she took it.

"You have Hershey kisses," she said, digging into the sundae.

"I prefer other chocolate kisses," he replied, leaning in to brush his lips to hers. She smirked and let him for a moment before pulling away.

"Stop distracting me."

"But it tastes so good. One more bite?" He gave her puppy eyes and she shook her head. "I bring you desert and this is the thanks I get?"

"No," she said, leaning close with her ice cream. "The thanks you get comes a little later."

Larry chuckled and wrapped his arm around her. "Oh, and will I like it?"

"I think you will," she nodded.

"Mmmm," he moved closer, brushing his mouth to her ear. After a few more minutes he frowned. "Just one little bite?"

Cora sighed and scooped a small spoonful, then held it out to him. "One bite."
