(Just a fic. Heard a song. It was perfect. Using carolineparker with permission from her amazing mun. Set in their happy!verse. Not binding unless she wants it to be.)

"You make me come//You make me complete//You make me completely miserable//I love the things that we should fear//I'm not afraid of being here" - Lit

"Will I see you tonight?" He murmured against the skin of her neck as he kissed her. Her fingers gripped his suit jacket and she sighed softly. He had her pressed between himself and the door inside of her office.

"Maybe," she replied. He let his teeth hit her ear at that answer and she gasped.

"Maybe?"

"Mmmhmm." Her hands went around his neck and he turned his lips to meet hers. The kiss was long and slow before he pulled away to catch his breath.

"I'll see you tonight," he said, his eyes meeting hers. She stared back and nodded. He reached past her for the door knob, but didn't move. He was having a hard time convincing himself to. Pressed against her still, he kissed her once more, then pulled away and reached into his pocket. "Look...I...I want you to take this." He produced a little silver key to her. She looked down at it, then up at him, her brows high.

"Why?"

He sighed at the tightness of her tone. "So you can come and go as you please." He kept his gaze on her, really not wanting her to see anything more into it. Since Sam had left for school, they had been spending equally as much time at his place as at hers. It was logic to him. Nothing else.

"Larry.." she began slowly. His eyes dropped shut.

"I'm not asking you to move in, Cora. I'm just giving you a key."

"I don't want a key," she said sharply. "And I'm not giving you a key to my place."

His eyes opened again and he stared at her. She stared back, chin high. He finally sighed and shook his head. "I have to get back to work." He stepped away and left the key on her desk, then opened her door. "You'll need that if you want to come over tonight." Then he left before she could throw the key at him.

It was late. Larry was sprawled out on the couch with his laptop, working on an opening statement. Having glanced at the clock several times, he assumed she wasn't coming over. He was disappointed of course, but not surprised. He really should have known better than to pull what he had pulled. Even though he had meant nothing more behind it.

He worked as long as he possibly could keep his eyes open, then gave in. He shut the laptop down and set it away, then moved for his room. He changed into a t-shirt and flannel pants and started to crawl into bed. There was a sound out in the apartment and he heard the front door open and shut. Soft steps came down the hallway and a knock at the door.

"Larry?" The door opened slowly and Cora stepped in hesitantly. He looked up at her, but said nothing. Her arms crossed over her chest and she stood just inside the door. Both quietly stared at each other. After some time he sighed and switched off the lamp, then lay down. Before long he felt the covers shift beside him and the bed move. He rolled over and wrapped an arm around her tightly, then kissed the side of her face.

"I'm glad you came over," he whispered.

"Me too."

He slid his lips across her face and kissed her. She kissed him back as her arm moved around his neck. He brushed a hand along her arm and pulled her closer, leaning over her. He felt her sigh beneath him and moved kisses along her jaw. He let himself drop closer as his hand moved up her shirt, against her skin.

They were seemingly okay. For the time being.
