Spring's here, according to the calender and weather. But with no plant life anywhere, that's the only sign. It's sad, here I am in Japan, technically, and won't be seeing any of the fields of flowering sakura trees the country is so famous for. I've read all about sakura viewing festivals and thought they sounded so beautiful. I'd like to hope plant life exists somewhere here, because I'd like to have something in my room. Preferably something appropriately Japanese like a a bonzai or a maple tree for the balcony. I'm not Japanese, yet I feel as though I should do my part to keep the culture alive.
I haven't heard word of an event, so am I correct in assuming there won't be a party for Easter? I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't, blasphemous as it is to have a sex related party to celebrate Christ's resurrection. But I do have my fingers crossed that there will be candy and carrot cake here somewhere.
