prismacoloring

I told people on deviantart that I got prismacolor markers this weekend. Reason being I can't cg on a macbook so I need some stuff I can put on paper. My friends who know art were like "oh no those things are ghetto. you will never be MANGAKA D:." But I wanted loads and loads of markers and like 30 different shades of one color, and I can't have that in copics unless I also have like $1000.
People were right- they don't blend as well as I thought professional markers would. Instead of blending, they like to do this blotchy bleeding thing. But the important thing is that I have LOTS of colors and I'm happy.

First drawings with markers. They're garish and blobby but will always be SO SPECIAL TO ME ;o; 2nd one- I went outside the lines so much it was ridiculous, so I covered that up with a red outline. Kind of like photoshop layer option "stroke", except not as fast and sometimes I use that to even out the border (stray pixels will be stroked too) even when the final image won't have a border because it's a secret fetish or compulsion thing. And then I was unskilled again and made the outline uneven so I cut it out. That was the end of it, fortunately.

I like the chicken. I like the other one because it has floaty hair and I haven't drawn floaty hair in a long time. What I don't like is how mousy the hair color is. It was hard to know from the onset where exactly I wanted highlights and to not marker that area. Prismacolors need erasers, please.
(edit: does this dude look kind of like Jessica Alba to anyone? I think I've been oogling her photos too much. Girl is HOT.)
