"The Oxford Roof Climber’s Rebellion by Stephen Massicotte is a fictionalized tale of a true event - the meeting of poet Robert Graves and T.E. Lawrence, also known as Lawrence of Arabia, at Oxford University after the First World War. Lawrence has recently been cast out of the Paris Peace talks of 1919, and Graves has barely survived the trenches of the Somme.
"Haunted by the senseless slaughter they witnessed and disillusioned with the political deceit they experienced, both men contemplate the war and its aftermath. Graves is haunted by his experiences of trench warfare while his young wife is focused on a renewed England. Lawrence can’t bear to see his beloved Arabia falling into the morass of civil war while Britain breaks its promises to its former Arab allies. What can a pair of rebels do, except take to the rooftops of Oxford.
