Maximo Park - The Coast Is Always Changing I was waiting for a lift outside the train station the other day, and put on A Certain Trigger. I forgot how much I love them, and was dancing and singing outloud like a complete dick.
Jenny Lewis - Born Secular There is never a day when I don't have a song from Rabbit Fur Coat in my head.
Leonard Cohen - So Long Marianne Just beautiful, as always
The Smiths - William, It Was Really Nothing I wrote the lyrics "The rain falls hard on a humdrum town, this town has dragged you down..and everybody's got to live their life and God knows I've got to live mine" on a post-it on my bed side table. Reading it helps me get up stupidly early to get the train to fucking Derby.
Patrick Wolf - The Libertine because it came on the other day on the train home from Derby, when we were going through long dark tunnel after tunnel, and the music and the darkness and everything made me realise that life sometimes has little beautiful parts, even if the rest is shit.
