WIL - Weekend 3

Apr 26, 2010 13:36

1.  I am SO please with my fights on the chess board (or off the board, as case may be.)
1a.  Lincoln is a snotty kid that needs to stop coughing and spitting on his blade because it pisses Lisana off.
1b.  Joan Humble is too big for her britches.
1c.  I can cover up any fumble on the board and make it believable - "Thank God!"

2.  COLORADO! (Sung to the tune of the Hallelujia Choir...)
     2a.  I'm keeping them.

3.  Hooray for my "Cousin Luigi" from TRF.
3a.  3 boys from Italy are better than 2 in the parade!
     3b. "Italiano...Uno, due, tre...UUGHH!"

4.  Chastising people and telling them that they "could look no more disdainful" makes them laugh and waive.

5.  Italian Lounge Time is the highlight of the day.
5a. This is infectious and contagious - even to the Royals.  Queen Anne on Inkspot was hilarious!

6.  Friends from High School...some you know, some you don't.
6a.  Being found once by one of your HS best friends - priceless.  Not seeing her again - suckage.
6b.  Being found by one of your HUSBAND's HS best friends - weird as shit.  Especially when you wouldn't have known him from Adam's housecat!  Ken was a really nice guy and his 2 girls were sweet as pie.  (Another 2 gowns to make before faire ends, I believe.)

7.  Wrestling.  Hmmm....
7a.  Do NOT injure my kid.  Period.

8.  I miss the village women when they are not ALL there.

9.  Highland Fling!
9a.  Holy Bald Geebus!  9 million Scots on the planet and they were all in OUR village!
9b.  I love it when our own take prizes and change classes!

10.  Knowing that out of a giant group of people I am the only voice of comfort and understanding after a stupid and irrational testostrone explosion which creates hurt feelings and stupid tension, makes for a happy me...

The weekend highlight however was this:

After cannon on Saturday, I was done...tired and done.  I was singing the "happy naked time" ditty that we all love so much on my way back to the keep and trotting down the hill toward the road.  I saw the family standing by the tree and nodded as I passed, all the while lementing that my sleeve tie had yet again come untied and was hanging off my shoulder.  Out of NOWHERE the littlest one of the bunch, a girl of maybe 5 years dressed as a tiny magenta, tuquoise and electric blue scarfed belly dancer, raced over to me and threw her arms around my waist.  She lifted up her tiny blonde head, looked at me with giant brown doe shaped eyes and said, "Goodbye...Thank you for being preeeetty..."  I looked down at her, with tears now filling my eyes and was speechless.  All I could do was hug her to me and kiss her little head.  I finally managed to say (because the Contessa told Niki to shut up) "Grazie, Bella...you have made my day."  She let go, said goodybe again and ran back to her mother - who looked horrified that her daugher had bothered me.  Mom mouthed the words "I'm so sorry."  I smiled, shook my head and blew her a kiss.

Then I became a muppet and floppled all the way back to the keep, sniffling up tears.
