El Día de Amistad.

Tonight.
I saw Shirley Temple all grown up. Shirley Temple grew up. Even Shirley Temple. Now I know it is, indeed, inevitable.

Tonight.
Two candles, together. The heat of one unhurriedly cutting away at the other. White slides slowly--silently--to the table. Unnoticed. The ill-fated candle, once straight and sensible, unobtrusively graceful, now lies on the table. Like a sunny-day snowman. Just like that. But this is how you learn. This is how life works. Candle homicide... but now I know.

Tonight.
I had a nice Valentine's night. If nothing else, the eight of us in bibs was borderline-priceless. I really don't mind Valentines day and actually like it quite a lot. Any holiday that increases your daily food intake is ok by me. In Spanish you can call it the Día de Amistad, or the Día de Amor. While I highly anticipate someday having a Día de Amor, for now I'm enjoying having an annual Día de Amistad. Happy V-day, guys.
