Melancholy Cook

Feb 13, 2011 11:15

"Sanji! FOOOD!" The yell of my captain echoes through the galley of the Sunny, and I scowl, mixing the vegetables.

'Dumbass. I'm already cooking as fast as I can.'

"Hey," I hear from behind me, and a pair of warm lips come up and kiss my cheek, hands wrapping gently around my middle. I sigh and relax into the other's hold.

"What's wrong? Or are you finally ready to kill Luffy?"

"Nah. S'not that. He always acts like this. I'm just in a shitty mood. Sorry," I sigh again. He kisses me once more and lets his head slid to my shoulder, nuzzling against my hair, soft breath puffing at my skin. It tingles, and I smile.

"Hey, Zoro," I ask, "what did you want to eat?"

He smiles against my neck and murmurs his answer. I blush, and from his chuckle, I know that he can see it creep down my neck.

"B-baka." I try and escape, but it's too late. His hands are already tightened and he nuzzles me again. I can tell he was kidding....but also serious. He confuses me all the time.

Like, for instance, how can somebody actually manage to leave the beach in search, and wind up in exactly the same spot four seconds later, with no recollection of how it even happened?

He would have to make a visible full turn!

But no-doesn't even know. Insists he travelled in a straight line down the street. I snort, but just then, the cabin door slams open, and we both look over. Luffy stands the, in all his glory. He hops over, thankfully-I'm trying to focus on the food here-ruining the mood a bit.

But subtely, the swordsman behind me nuzzles and kisses along my jawline, murmuring sweet nothings and making me blush harder.

"I wanna eeat now Sanjiiii~~"

I sigh, finally breaking free of Zoro's hold and stomping over to prevent him from eating one of Nami's crab cakes.

"THOSE AREN'T YOURS, YOU IDIOT! THE STIR FRY WILL BE READY IN A SECOND! QUIT EATING OTHER PEOPLE'S FOOD!"

He pouts and walks over to sit at the table, grabbing a single cake and taking it with him. But before I can reprimand him, I notice the vegetable are giving off thier smell, and scoop them into the white rice, simmering lowly on the skillet.

"So, Luffy. Where are we headed again?" I smirk. Zoro had been sleeping while we'd decided, and apparently hadn't found out yet.

Haha.

Not like Luffy's the one to ask. He wasn't listening. He was staring at the huge ass seagulls that were above us a few hours ago and wondering if I'd cook thme for him.

Yes, this is seagull meat in the stirfry. I can't exactly waste it after he kills it and hands it to me, can I?

"Dunno. Sanji! Where are we-"

"We have to find a place to restock on cola and then we're headed to the Sabody Archipelago. Freakin' pay attention, you dumbass."

Behind me, he grinned, and nodded to Zoro.

"Yeah, and then we're goin' to Merman Island!" he clapped his sandals together and grabbed his knife and fork, back on the food warpath,

"FOOD FOOD FOOD FO-" I shoved a chuck of bread in his mouth and he chewed, quieting down for the moment. Zoro laughed and laid his head in his arms, waiting to eat.

At least he was patient.

Glancing back, I shoveled the stir fry onto plates and topped it with more rice and sauce, adding some crab cakes for the two woman on board, grabbing the intercom.

"LUNCH!"

The call shouted all over the ship, but I heard a snore behind me, rolling my eyes and putting a single plate in the fridge and locking it after.

He could eat later.

"YAY! FOOOOOD!" I slammed my foot into Luffy's stomach as he tried to grab his plate. But when he sat down, I waited until everyone else was seated before handing them thier food, and setting the bread on the table, along with a plate of small cakes for Robin and Nami. I sat next to Zoro and Chopper, leaning on him.

How I loved my Marimo.

Baka. He snored and leaned on me too, head resting on my arm. I smiled, scooping a spoonful of rice into my mouth and chewing. Somehow, along the short time, I'd lost my melancoly.
