“Juror Twelve?” called the foreperson.
Gail paused and glanced down at her scribbles, then she looked at the eager faces around the table. Each person silently implored her to choose as they chose so they could all get out of there. She thought about the ADA; Ms Rubirosa had smoothly countered the testimony of the expert while Mr Cutter had torn a hole in the defendant’s story. Not a big hole, but big enough to allow Gail’s reasonable doubt to shift from one side to the other.
Gail knew in her soul that her choice was the right one.
“Guilty.”
