Title: Don't Sleep in the Subway
Author: clearbell
Words: 100
Flavor: Mothership
Characters: Michael Cutter, Connie Rubirosa
Rating: G
Notes: This was actually a title in search of a fic. Anyone who knows the song it's taken from gets points, because I think it's pretty obscure now.

“Are you okay?” Mike said.

Connie was holding the subway railing tightly, looking wan. She put her hand over her mouth to conceal a yawn.

“Just really tired. We were at the office past midnight, and then I woke up this morning at four. I want to go back to bed.”

“Well, we need to be on our game. That gun has to be admitted into evidence.”

“I know,” she said. Then she moved closer, putting her head on his shoulder. “Wake me when our stop comes, okay?”

Mike sighed. He couldn’t be an attack dog when faced with that.
