Ben scrambled for the puck. A player from the opposing team was there within a heartbeat, slamming him into the boards.
A struggle ensued. Words were spoken.
Sticks were dropped; gloves were strewn about on the ice. Filled with rage, Ben threw the first punch. He’d picked the wrong guy. His opponent proved to be too strong a match, knocking him down in three speedy blows.
The referees pulled them apart. Grinning, the other player shouted vulgar obscenities; Ben was too dazed to answer as he found his footing.
The crowd was still cheering when he awoke from the dream.
