[ .... My god! Mayuri! What are you doing?! Nemu has to correct this behavior and, while Mayuri has taken a turn for the soft, Nemu has taken a turn for the hostile and reckless.

So enjoy a table being flung passed him, but, it's not aimed towards him. It's just to get his attention. ]

Mayuri, must you always idle on such important work? Tsk. Don't you have any appreciation for your creation?

[Flinches when the table goes past- recognizing both the act as well as the presence behind him.

Though he hesitates to turn around, he still manages a smile when he sees her.]

I know you have no ears but you should be able to hear me well, or do I have to modify some for you? [ She screeches at his insubordination. ] Get back to your work. Tend those insolent sheep. [ a flock of baas can be heard from in the basement. Unfortunately, the sheep still believe Nemu is their ally and their friend. ] They seem to be more loyal than you could ever hope to be.

[Unhappy, but not really surprised. It was just a stage, wasn't it? All children went through rebellious periods. It wasn't because he never disciplined her, always gave her what she wanted- he'd wait it out, everything would be fine. Someday.]

Of course- I didn't mean to keep you waiting.

[Quickly getting the rest of his things, he heads towards the door. But in the doorway he pauses, not quite able to look at her.]

I thought- tonight, if you're not busy- we could have dinner together?

[ Even though this stage will barely last a week, it will still be a very bitter realization for the both of them. ]

Tch. You never mean anything you say. [ She still considers the question. He was expected to make dinner, and she was expected to eat it. It's not like he could poison her or something. She replies with heavy sarcasm. ] Unless you somehow had other plans I don't see why you needed to ask. [ But if he didn't ask she'd get upset anyways. Being Mayuri is suffering. ]

[Barely holds back from protesting that of course he meant everything- he never would have made her if he hadn't wanted her company.

For some reason he also remembered heavily abusing her, but- that didn't make sense. That couldn't have happened, he wouldn't do something like that. Even so, guilt holds him back.]

No other plans, no. I hope it'll be alright...

[Abruptly- as though escaping into efficiency- he brushes past her and heads down to look after the sheep.]

[ She remembers being heavily abused, but just notes that to make his life even more miserable. ]

It will be adequate. [ And she'll go back to science!! Mainly by making more of those spying bacteria, which are in the lab. She'll follow him downwards, with her usual staidness being replaced by a deliberately cold exterior. ]

[Doesn't ignore her, so much as... try to work around her. The sheep are a distraction, at least; during this time, he's actually quite gentle with them. They're somewhat skittish around him, but he accepts that just like he accepts everything else.]

Not quite like the icon but she'll be mixing and pouring chemicals with a single finger and not paying any attention to him or the sheep. ]
