Dinner and going to sleep. That's it, really.
After a long day of interviews, Eiri found himself too tired to bother fixing dinner. Instead, the author ordered take-out, and grabbed a beer before sitting down in front of the the TV to wait for food, and for Shuichi to come home.
Shuichi was currently on his way home, from a rather productive day at work. He was rather pleased with himself as, even if he hadn't managed as much work as K would have liked, he certainly had made some progress, and some was better than none, right?
Eiri flipped through the channels, pausing when he saw one of his interviews from earlier that day being aired. Crossing his legs, he continued to go on to the news, occasionally glancing at the clock. He took a sip of his beer as the Korean president gave a speech in Sapporo, and decided he didn't care much before changing the channel.
A few moments later, and Shuichi opened the door to his and Eiri's apartment, smiling brightly. "Yuuuuuki? I'm home!!"
Eiri looked in the general direction of Shuichi's voice as he took another sip of beer, and switched off the TV.
"Yuki?" Shuichi slipped off his shoes, and made his way into the apartment, peeking his head around the corner, to glance into the living room, before his eyes landed upon the blond novelist. "Hi!!"
"Hey," he replied, setting his drink down on the coffee table. He looked at Shuichi with a small half-smile, taking his glasses off.
Shuichi smiled again, and bounced his way over to the couch, before plopping down next to Eiri, automatically pulling his feet up to snuggle against the other. "I missed you~~"
Eiri rolled his eyes, wrapping an arm around him. "Brat," he muttered, though affectionately. "I ordered dinner. Are you hungry?"
Shuichi's arms went around Eiri's waist, and he nodded against the other's chest. "Very." He pulled away slightly then, although his hands did not move, to look up at the blond. "How was your day?"
"It was decent." He brushed a few strands of pink hair out of Shuichi's face, the backs of his fingers tracing down his cheek. "How was yours?"
Shuichi smiled again, eyes closing for a moment before they opened and regarded Eiri again. "Pretty good. I wrote a song and a half!"
"That's good." The doorbell rang, and he tilted Shuichi's chin up to kiss him briefly before pulling away and going to the door. He paid the delivery man and took the bag of food, walking through the living room to the kitchen.
When he saw Eiri pass into the kitchen, Shuichi stood up and stretched before following after the other. "What'd you get?" He asked, trying to peer around Eiri and see what was in the bag.
"Dumplings, and fried rice. Oh, and chicken, but it's spicy. There's soda in the fridge, if you want." He unpacked the bag, pulling out plates.
"Okay," Shuichi answered, moving over to the fridge to grab himself a soda before placing it on the table and taking a seat.
Eiri set out the open food containers on the table before setting out plates for himself and Shuichi. He pulled out two pairs of chopsticks and sat down to eat.
Shuichi proceeded to grab his chopsticks and break them apart before putting some of the food upon his plate and taking a bite. "This stuff is so gooood~"
Eiri nodded, taking a bite of chicken before spooning some rice onto his plate. It wasn't terribly amazing, but it was better than some he had had.
A few moments later, Shuichi put down his chopsticks and picked up his soda, opening and taking a drink. He then returned to his food, thinking how nice it was, sitting there with Eiri, just having dinner. They really were like a married couple.
Eiri finished with his chicken, taking a few dumplings onto his plate. He had grown accustomed to the other's presence.
"So, did you get any writing done today?" Shuichi asked conversationally after swallowing another bite of rice.
"No, I had too many interviews." Which meant that he would be up later writing, but that didn't seem to matter.
"Oh. How'd those go?"
"They were fine." He stopped eating to put soy sauce on the dumplings.
"Oh." Shuichi didn't question further, although he kinda wanted to, instead opting to take another bite of rice.
After another dumpling or two Eiri set down his chopsticks, full. He stood to place his plate in the sink, and leaned against the counter.
A few moments later, Shuichi followed suit, standing up and putting his empty plate in the sink before returning to the table and grabbing his still half-full soda and taking a drink.
Eiri picked up the leftovers and threw them out, knowing full well that they weren't going to be eaten if left in the fridge. He reached for his cigarettes, lighting one.
Shuichi moved over to Eiri, to lean against the other as he took a drink of his soda. It had been a long day.
Eiri took a drag from his cigarette, blowing the smoke up. He place the cigarette in a nearby ashtray, looking down at his lover.
Shuichi felt Eiri's eyes upon him and lifted his head to meet the other's gaze, smiling brig
htly at him.
Eiri rolled his eyes before smiling back, and reached for his cigarette again.
"I'm tiiiired, Yuki." Shuichi said, burying his face in Eiri's shoulder again.
"Then go to sleep, brat."
"Come with me."
"I have to work."
"You've been working all daaay~"
"No, I have to write now."
Shuichi pouted, but remained silent.
Eiri put out his cigarette. "Quit that."
"Quit what?" Shuichi asked, still pouting.
"That."
"What?"
"Pouting."
"I'm not!"
"Yes, you are."
"Nooo?"
"Yes."
"... no?"
"... Forget it." He turned and left to go to his study, stopping to get his glasses from the coffee table in the living room.
Shuichi sighed to himself and finished off his soda, debating on whether or not it was a good idea to follow Yuki into his study.
Eiri left the door of his study open, and sat down to his laptop, opening the top.
When Shuichi peered around the corner, and saw that the door was open, he decided to go inside.
He looked up as he waited for the computer to start up, leaning back in the chair.
"... Sorry." Shuichi offered as he stepped into the study.
Eiri raised an eyebrow, which probably wasn't visible. The study wasn't well lit, though Eiri never seemed to notice.
Shuichi took Eiri's silence as acceptance, and proceeded to bounce over to the other's side.
Eiri pulled Shuichi down into his lap, resting his head on the other's shoulder.
Shuichi placed his arms around Eiri loosely, closing his eyes as he laid against the other.
He watched the computer screen as his desktop came up, though didn't touch the computer, and pulled Shuichi closer instead.
Shuichi was all too happy to be pulled closer to the other, and snuggled against him, smiling.
"Ne, Shuichi?"
"Yes, Yuki~?"
"Let's go to sleep." He leaned forward slightly, to close the laptop, wrapped his arms well around Shuichi's waist, and stood up, picking him up.
Shuichi blinked in surprise, and looked up at Eiri. "I thought you had to work?"
"Tomorrow." He repositioned Shuichi and walked down the hallway, glad that the bedroom door was open.
Shuichi frowned slightly. "I don't want you to miss work because of me, Yuuuki~."
He frowned, dumping Shuichi onto the bed. "Do you want me to stay with you or not, brat?" He crossed his arms, growing impatient.
"Of course!" Shuichi replied, frown increasing.
"Well, make up your mind, then."
Shuichi continued frowning for a moment, before scooting over to make room for Eiri.
Eiri rolled his eyes and went into the bathroom to get ready for bed, brushing his teeth.
Shuichi sighed, and sat up, wondering what had made Eiri change his mind.
After rinsing, he stripped down to his boxers, tossing his clothes into the laundry hamper. He stepped back out of the bathroom to join Shuichi on the bed.
Shuichi laid down again when Eiri got into the bed, automatically moving closer, to snuggle with the older man.
He wrapped an arm around the Shuichi, kissing him goodnight.
Shuichi kissed Eiri back, smiling again.
He smiled back, and leaned over to turn off the lamp. "Goodnight."
"G'night, Yuki!
