I'd stow my case (illegally) at the British Library (next to Euston and King's Cross. They have v. large lockers and it's a quid which you get back when you retrieve the stuff. Officially you can't leave the site if your stuff is there but everyone does... Or I'd use the cloakrooms of museums - the British Museum, National Portrait Gallery or National Gallery. Used to do this a _lot_ when I was younger.

Any good to you??

Large enough for a large-ish suitcase?

There aren't any scanners there, though, right? Or are there? And how are the bags and whatnot stored there; all lined up next to each other?

Monday would be great, thank you so much. I can work out the rest of the plot in the meantime.

Though, now I have to ask, of course: is that an area of the city where you'd expect at least a few doctors' offices?

Street names would be fantastic! Names I'll make up, but locations are love. :D

And thanks for that link!

I'm so sorry I missed this comment! I'd blame LJ, but it's entirely possible I just deleted the notification - again, sorry!

Thank you for the street names, and yes, more of them would be wonderful. Maybe within a ten, fifteen-minute radius? Not much of a mystery if everything happens right around the Museum.

And thank you, thank you, thank you for those details on the luggage storage! They helped me work out a major plot kink, plus it's just plain useful information to have.

You're amazing. ♥

I think there is a scanner, but I've only seen it in use occasionally. It may depend on the current alert levels. At any rate, I don't check my bags there very often, but on at least one occasion have had to put things through a machine first. It may be shared between museums for special events.

Yes, the British library lockers have no scanners and the largest are big enough for a reasonable size case (they're planning to bring in a size restriction but it's not in place yet). For super-super-sized cases, people either leave them at the counter service or use the chains for feeding through the sleeves of coats (feed the chain through the suitcase handle and connect it back through the key operated loop on the wall et voila! The British library is open until 8pm for readers, mon-thurs but you need a readers card (free for everyone) to get in after about 6pm. The other museums have more in thewayof size restrictions (and a counter service rather than a locker room) but are plausible alternatives.

Ps If the uk terror alert rating goes above Amber, they might search a case at the front desk of the bl... Normally it isn't a problem...

That pretty much saves my plot, thank you!
