I went to see 173 hot-air balloons take off in the space of an hour at the 19. Warsteiner Internationale Montgolfiade. There were participants from Thailand and Canada and whatnot, and the whole thing looked very impressive.
But the best thing? Was this:
Pixar! They sewed 540 little ballons on the hull and wrapped the basket (do you call it that?) so it looked like a little house. ♥
This means the pilot has to fly blind, so another balloon has to fly right next to it. They guide him over the radio. Tomorrow the Pixar team will already be in Berlin, so I was lucky they all could start today (and right in front of me, no less!).
