"I promise I won't cheat, even though I easily could and you would have no idea," she said with a glimmer of mischief in her eyes.
She layed down 4 cards and said, "Okay, so you start with four cards each, and you have to match what you think the other person will put down. You can match in number or colour," She paused and thought of a better way to explain it. "So if you match what I had already put down, it doesn't count, only if you match what I put down after you. There are two plays to every round, and you and I would start alternatively. So in the first round, you start by putting a card down. And I am blindfolded at this point.. I put a card down after you do, and if they match, you win the round. Then, we switch." She smiled broadly at Harry, knowing that she could read peoples minds better than anyone. "It's called Blind Match, and it's my favourite game to play..but I guess that's because I always win." She giggled innocently and watched Harry's reaction.
"Oh, so basically we're going to play a game that completely plays to your strengths and is bound to end up with me losing miserably? Is that what you're telling me?" he joked, looking skeptically at her just before grinning.
"Fine. I'll play, but if I ever get my hands on a Quidditch trivia game, you and I are on." He shook his head and grinned again.
Lavender laughed while nodding. "It does seem that way, doesn't it," she grinned, "But I'm sure you won't lose miserably..maybe just a little bit." She giggled.
Lavender looked surprised, "Harry, you know I don't know anything about Quidditch! Cheerleading, maybe, but not the game itself!" She giggled again, and started to deal the cards. "Okay, I'm going to blindfold myself now, do you have something I can use, like a bandana or something?" She looked around his room for anything obvious.
"Of course you don't know anything about Quidditch. That's the point, Lavvy," he joked, rolling his eyes.
Spotting something they could use, he walked over to Brady's bed to retrieve the scarf he had gotten him for Christmas. He smiled at the embroidered 'BW' on the end before handing it to her.
"Yes, please. I want you to be assured that I am not cheating, so you tie it." She smiled at him as he put the scarf around her eyes and tied it in the back.
"Not too tight!" She said.
She waited for Harry to get back to his seat and make his first move... in the card game.
Harry resumed his position on the bed, looking at the four cards he had to choose from. Wondering if either of them would be able to guess correctly even a single time, he selected a red six and placed it in front of him.
"Okay, your turn," he said, staring at the card and thinking hard about it.
Lavender ran her hand slowly across her cards, and stopped on the one second from the left. She put the card down face down and pulled down the scarf covering her eyes. "Okay, ready? I'm going to flip it over."
She flipped it over, both of them watching intently... it was a blue five. "Sorry, Harry, that was a close one! Okay, it's your turn to be blindfolded," she said cheerily.
Lavender returned the grin. "I'm sure you'll get it right next time," she said, as she picked up the scarf from the bed.
"I think it's only fair if I do," she said with a smile. "Okay," she said as she finished tying it around him, "How's that feel?" She waved her hand in front of his face, and because there was no reaction, she knew he couldn't see.
"Feels like a scarf tied around my face," he joked, finding it oddly vulnerable that he couldn't see anything, but comforting all the same since he could smell Brady on the scarf.
"You know, this really feels a little pointless. I don't know if this is going to work," he mumbled, feeling silly as he thumbed through his cards and selected one at random, placing it face down in front of him.
"There. I've done it," he said, reaching back to pull the scarf down. Flipping over the card, he shook his head with a laugh. "Look at that. You matched the number," he said, looking up from the orange seven to wink at her. "Lucky guess."
Lavender looked a little shocked as she was expecting it to be yellow. "Yeah, lucky..." She said monotonously.
"Well, okay, for this round I want you to pick a card you're going to play before you're blindfolded, and this way it will have a little more skill involved." She smiled at Harry, who just rolled his eyes. "Oh c'mon Harry, I bet you you'll get this one right. Just one more round, okay?"

"So it's your turn to choose a card, right?"

"Yes, it's my turn. Don't be so impatient, now..." She thought hard and focused more on Harry's mind than the cards in front of her.
An image appeared above Harry's head and it was a yellow seven. Lavender smiled to herself, and put down a seven card.
"Okay, Harry, now you can put down the card you were planning on playing." She smiled broadly, even though she knew he couldn't see.
