So....
I spent the entirety of this morning (up to about noon) running to the bathroom every 5 minutes... not a fun day. I finally got exhausted from all the potty and slept from about noon til 6ish. Since then, I've felt perfectly fine. I've been playing around now with my Windows Vista beta install...
Vista at first glance seems to have a large number of improvements that I didn't even know Windows needed. Right now I only have 2 problems:
1) My Maxtor HDD has a known DMA issue, which I was able to resolve easily in both XP and Linux. Vista doesn't have any option to force a specific DMA or disable it entirely, which leads to an almost 10 minute boot time so far... HOPEFULLY I can find some way to fix this and get a nice fast boot.
2) So far, just about every program I try to install doesn't work. I know this is because I'm using a beta OS, but I figured the compatability modes would atleast pretend to do something. Oh well.
Other than those two things (And really, #2 is a little exaggerated...) Vista is great. I really enjoy all the little things that Microsoft put into this OS.
